What LiftLab is
A free tool for tracking food and building training plans, built on published research and citing it. It is provided as is, with no warranty, and it may be changed or switched off at any time.
It is not medical advice
LiftLab is not a doctor, a dietitian or a coach, and nothing it outputs is a diagnosis, a prescription or a treatment plan. Calorie targets, macro targets and training programmes are estimates generated from population research, and the app says so wherever it produces one.
Talk to a qualified professional before starting a diet or training programme, and especially if you are pregnant, under 18, managing a health condition, taking medication, or have a history of disordered eating.
The numbers are estimates
Food data comes from public databases and from restaurants' own published figures. Some of it is crowd-sourced and some of it is a manufacturer's label, and both can be wrong — which is why every food carries its source and a trust level, and why impossible entries are flagged rather than hidden. Calorie counts are approximations, and self-reported intake is systematically under-reported. Use the trend, not any single number.
Lifting carries risk
Resistance training can cause injury. A generated plan cannot see your technique, your history or your joints. Start lighter than you think you need to, progress slowly, and stop if something hurts in a way that is not ordinary training discomfort.
Your account
Do not use LiftLab to store anyone else's data without their knowledge, and do not attempt to access another person's account. Accounts that are used to attack or abuse the service will be removed.
